Welcome to Boston for Bullet

In 2011, Barb's nephew and his wife, Kurt and Evynn Overton, ran the Boston Marathon to support our Aunt Barb "Bullet" Moran in her courageous and determined fight against cancer - a fight that begin at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston in 1998.  In February of 2012, Barb lost her physical fight against this terrible disease.  In April of 2012, Kurt and Evynn ran the Boston Marathon once again to honor Barb's indefatigable spirit and love for life. In its first two years of existence, Boston for Bullet raised over $37K to fund innovative cancer research at Dana-Farber.

In 2013, in honor of her inspiring and unforgettable 51 years, Barb's lifelong best friend, Penny Ruhm, raised further monies for Dana Farber, taking Boston for Bullet within blocks of the finish line before being stopped due to the horrific events that unfolded at the finish line.  Her run was nothing shy of success, as Penny's efforts raised over $13,000 towards basic cancer research at Dana-Farber.

In 2014, Penny's husband, Michael Ruhm, raised an additional $13,000+ for cancer research at Dana Farber, leading Boston for Bullet to the finish line once again.

On April 20, 2015, Boston for Bullet will again be running towards the finish line as Barb's niece, Sara Veley, will run the Boston Marathon in memory of her Aunt "Bullet."

Since it's inception in 2011, Boston for Bullet has raised over $60,000 for the Claudia Adams Barr Program in Innovative Basic Cancer Research. It is because of Boston for Bullet's unparalleled supporters, that it has consistently led a successful campaign with Team Dana-Farber the past 4 years. Your continued financial and emotional support of this effort  is beyond appreciated. Our goal in 2015 is to raise another $10,500 for Dana-Farber and its patients.   We ask you to join us in this effort.
The cure is out there.
